03 — Before you write
Three things
worth knowing.
Custom work runs on a different clock to retail. The earlier the conversation starts, the more of the design stays open to you.
Lead time
Bridal takes the longest, matric and evening rather less. Book as far ahead as you can — a compressed timeline limits fabric choices before it limits anything else.
Costing
Nothing is quoted before the consultation, because the fabric and the construction decide the price. You will have the figure in writing before any cutting begins.
Fittings
Fittings happen at the studio and cannot be skipped — they are what separates a custom garment from an altered one. Please budget the travel as well as the time.
